Sally Caverly is not just the owner and curator of Hawkfield consultants, she is also the heart and soul of the establishment. Her fondness for art developed as she grew up with her parents who are both artists. With this kind of environment, she started to appreciate the importance of preserving and enhancing arts and its value. Art collecting came about as a natural product of interacting with her family and from her school and work environment.
Sally has a B.A. degree in Marketing from Simmons College, a diploma from Phillips Academy in Andover and later obtains a Master’s degree in Education. She was employed as a Market Research Department Head at Houghton Mifflin Company and currently serving as a Director at the North and South Rivers Watershed Association. Being the youngest in the family, Sally was trained in the business in her early years as she was quite often tasked to serve as auctioneer for her parents who fortunately obtained a stunning collection of American impressionist paintings and sculpture. Later on in her twenties, she bought her first in her art collection which is a pastel drawing of wild ducks by William Henry Chandler. You will notice on her collection her interest on artworks with ducks, geese and wild birds and animals. And even her attachment with her home environment in the East Coast is quite apparent in the art collection of Sally Caverly. Her love for art and vast experience has helped Hawkfield Gallery to maintain its charming appearance which attracts many clients in visiting the establishment. |
